Our World is Changing… Stand up and be Counted!

Thousands of Witches, Wiccans, Heathens, Druids and other Pagans, responded to the recent poll which ended at Spring Equinox, 2006. Their answers indicate that we tend to be younger (39%) to middle aged (37%), educated (46% have degrees and 31% have "some college") registered voters (94%). 74% of respondents were female.

At the time this poll was conducted, a number of other groups and individuals had the same idea. This appears to have resulted in a much lower rate of response than in 2000 when the Covenant of the Goddess Poll was the only active poll. Our sampling does not enable us to provide estimates on our total numbers or confirm the widely held belief that our numbers are growing.

The Covenant is but one of many organizations who are giving voice to their interests and concerns about the greater community in which we all live, work and worship. There has been a visible change in this new millennium among earth centered religious organizations as we observe more of us venturing out of the safety of our "broom closets" to join with others to champion human rights, provide comfort and aid to those who suffer, and actively participate in interfaith and other global movements. We are one people on this one Earth.
